Vegetarian Won Ton (Serves 4)

 

Ingredients

120g Sweet Potatoes

15g Dried Chinese Mushroom

15g Celery

25g Water Chestnut

2 Spring Onion

1 tbsp Corn Flour

1 Egg


½ tbsp Gold Plum Crushed Yellow Bean Sauce

½ tbsp Gold Plum Superior Light Soy Sauce

1 tbsp Gold Plum Pure Sesame Oil

1 tbsp Gold Plum Rice Wine

A pinch of Gold Plum White Ground Pepper

12 pieces 6" x 6” Spring roll pastry or wonton pastry

1 cup Cooking Oil

 

Preparation

1. Boil the sweet potatoes, and separately soak the Chinese mushrooms in boiling water.  After 20 mins skin & mash the potatoes, and dice the mushrooms
2. Dice the celery and blanch in boiling water for 10 mins 
3. Dice water chestnuts and spring onion, and mix all the vegetables together with the mashed sweet potato, then add flour and sauce

4. Whisk the egg.  Place pastry in front of you in a diamond shape.  Place 1 teaspoon of mixture on the centre and fold pastry over into a triangular shape.  Seal with egg mix

4. Heat up the oil and fry the wontons for 30 seconds

5. Serve with your preferred sauce - we recommend Gold Plum Chilli Sauce!
